How to Set Up the Kiosk for your Patients

Updated over 2 months ago

The Kiosk Method of completion is always available for patients. Here is how you can set it up for them.

Automatic vs Custom Kiosk Codes

Kiosk codes can be either Automatic or Custom depending on what your organization has determined to work better for them.

Automatic codes

Automatic are codes that are randomly generated for the patient every time Kiosk Method is selected in the complete assessments tab. Automatic codes require a therapist or admin to generate a new Kiosk code each time the client uses the Kiosk to complete assessments. Please see below for examples.

Please note that Automatic codes expire in 48 hours and after they are used. Automatic codes are only meant to be used once and they present the assessments you selected during the complete assessment tab.

Custom Codes

Custom codes are a way to set a personalized code for a specific patient. Once a custom code is created for a patient, they do not require a therapist or admin to do anything in order to complete assessments on the Kiosk.

With the custom Kiosk code patients will be able to use the kiosk link whenever and wherever to complete assessments as the code never expires. The only thing that needs to be decided by an admin or therapist is whether we show the patient all outstanding assessments or all assessments that have been assigned to them, regardless if they are outstanding.

Switching from Automatic to Custom codes

To switch from automatic to custom please follow the steps below.

Remember this will only be available if your organization has enabled custom codes.

Step 1: Navigate to the patients "manage" page.

Step 2: Navigate to Kiosk configuration and adjust the slider according to what code you want for the patient.

Setting up your Custom codes

Once you have set the Kiosk code to "Custom", here is how you set it up.

Step 1: Enter your unique custom code you want for your patient.

Step 2: Select which assessment presentation you want.

Step 3: Save your changes.

Tips for using the Kiosk effectively

Here are a few quick tips to use the Kiosk to its fullest:

  • Save the Kiosk link found in the Kiosk configuration section as a bookmark on customer facing devices.

  • Create QR codes using the Kiosk link for patients to scan, so they can use their own device to complete assessments.

  • Consider attaching the link to emails for patients to remind them to complete assessments.
