Individual Security Measures on Greenspace for Admins

Updated over a month ago

Greenspace has many tools for individual users to protect the privacy of their patients and provide an ease of mind when it comes to security. Here are a few features that help with both:

  • Two Factor Authentication

  • Security Questions

Two Factor Authentication

You can add an extra layer of security to your Greenspace account by enabling Two-Step Verification.

Two-Step Verification, also known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), is an additional step that ensures that only the correct user is able to access their account. After entering your username and password, there will be a requirement to provide another form of verification by entering a short code received via SMS or Authenticator app before accessing your account details. This is a protective measure in case your password is compromised, helping protect your personal data from being accessed.

Activating Two-Step Verification

Once you create an account, you can enable two-step verification via Account Security preferences.

  1. Log into your Greenspace account.

  2. Go to your Account Settings by clicking the top-right menu option.

  3. Under Security, click Enable for Two Step Verification.

  4. You will have two options to start the authentication - SMS or Authenticator App. Select the type that you wish to use going forward.

  5. If you select Use Text Message (SMS), you will be prompt to enter your phone number. Click Next and you will get a text message with a random six-digit code to verify your number. You must enter the code within 10 minutes to verify your phone number.

If you select Use Authenticator App, you will be prompted with a QR code to be scanned into your app of choice to verify your account. Greenspace works with any standard authenticator apps, but if you aren’t sure where to start, we recommend Twilio Authy or Google Authenticator.

  6. Once two-step verification is successfully set up, you will be prompt to enter a new code each time you log in.

Note - If you are using a trusted/known device, you can select the Remember Me checkbox at log in to be remembered for 30 days. Once the 30 days expire, you will be prompted to re-authenticate with the selected two-step verification method.

Deactivating Two-Step Verification

A fully authenticated user can go to their Account Security preference, and choose to disable Two-Step Verification at any time.

  1. Log into your Greenspace account.

  2. Go to your Account Settings by clicking on the top-right menu option.

  3. Under Security, click Disable for Two Step Verification.

Security Questions

Your security questions are asked to you when signing up for Greenspace. These will help you reset your password using the "Forgot Your Password?" function on the home page. Here is a link on how to reset your password.

Changing security questions

If you ever needed to change your security questions, you will be prompted to provide your answer to the security question you selected. If you can't remember the answer you typed to your security question, you will need to contact Support.

Step 1: Select Settings in the top navigation bar.

Step 2: From the Security tab, click Edit next to your security question.

Step 3: Enter the current answer to your security question, and select your new security question and change the answer below. Click Save to confirm the change.
