Universal Patient Search and Self-Assign

Updated this week

This feature is currently in beta and not yet available to all customers.

Using Universal Search
If your organization has enabled access for Universal Search, a new toggle will appear on your patient list.

Turning this toggle on will allow you to search across all patients in your clinic or entire organization (if you are a part of a Stacked Organization structure, and your organization has enabled this setting).

You can search for patients using their name, patient profile ID, or a searchable patient profile field. You will see a new section called Records, containing information such as "Created on", which helps you identify the correct patient file in the case of duplicates or patients with the same name. The fields that appear here are determined by your organization.

Self-Assigning Patients

If your organization has given you permission to assign yourself as a provider to patients, you will also see a Self-Assign button for any patient you currently do not have access to.

If you have found a patient you would like access to, click Self-Assign.

A confirmation screen will appear. Once you click Assign to me, you will immediately gain access to the patient’s profile. Your Clinic Owner will receive an email notification letting them know that you have assigned yourself to this patient.
